AT&T Inc. is expanding its workforce with the hiring of five full-time engineers.
The new hires, who will begin working at the company’s headquarters in San Francisco, will work in software engineering and customer service and will help build out its new headquarters.
“We’re excited to be adding new engineers to our workforce, and we believe they’ll contribute to the growth and success of our products and services,” Chief Executive Officer Randall Stephenson said in a statement.
“We are hiring a number of engineers who will build out the new headquarters to provide a robust platform for the growing company.”
The hires come as AT&t prepares to take a larger role in the wireless sector.
The company is building out its own fiber network, which is expected to be finished by the end of the year.
It also recently launched its own voice service and is developing its own broadband service.
